Welcome to Gingersnap Photography, based in Portland, Oregon. This site features my soul-happy collection of still lifes, abstracts and projects. I'm INSPIRED by produce, gardens, cackling laughter(!) vintage fabric, nature's textures and looking at things in a fresh way, especially via travel and others' stories.

I have a news-editorial journalism degree and have been a professional photographer for 20 years. My photography has been published in newspapers and on websites; run as a 2011 cover shot for Hobby Farm Home magazine; been sold in auctions and at farmers' markets. Through January 2013, I was one of five featured artists in my first art show at Doll Gardner Gallery. My co-author Holly and I published a dessert cookbook in December 2014, which features my food styling photography; it's called Stuffed in the Middle: 52 Box Mix Treats with a Surprise Inside, available on Amazon.

"The simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event its proper expression... . In photography, the smallest thing can be a great subject. The little human detail can become a leitmotif." — Henri Cartier-Bresson
